Building on last year’s successful pilot event, we are partnering once again with the E-Lerng Artists Collective from the Wat Care Nang Lerng Community and renowned international artists for the สนามควาย l Buffalo Field event.
We are hosting two movement workshops and two dance performances on the 25th November, 30th November and 1st December 2018.
The event falls, once again, under the umbrella of embodied movement: a movement that is tied to the space it happens in, inviting a heightened perception of our surroundings –physical, emotional and spiritual.
The workshop on the 25th November will be run by Mike Hornblow (Australia/New Zealand) and will focus on embodied movement. Mike is an artist, organiser, and academic with a long tradition of work with communities; he fostered the collaboration with the E-Lerng Artists Collective last year, and kickstarted this festival.
The workshop on the 30th November will be run by Agung Gunawan (Indonesia) and will focus on embodied perception. Agung has been organising festivals in Java, Indonesia for years, and has been instrumental in reviving Bantengan bull spirit practices in Batu, which is deeply anchored in the beliefs of the local community.
The performances will take place on the evening of the 30thNovember and 1stDecember, with the participation of 12 artists from Asia, Australasia, Europe and South America.
