Differently-Abled Design DAD
Partner: The Institute of Health Promotion for People with Disability
Year of publication: 2016
Differently-Abled Design—DAD—is a manual for Universal Design practice from data collection to design. It aims to give the user basic knowledge on Universal Design principles, information on people of all ages and abilities—including seven types of disability, pregnant women, and elderly people at three distinct stages, and ultimately encourage the reader to understand both the interior and the exterior of their living environment. The readers can use the book to observe themselves and the people they live with, do a checklist on their living environments’ safety, obstacles and risks, to then allow them to redesign their living environment to suit all the inhabitants.
